Hi, my name is Arun Lakhani and welcome to the Arun Lakhani Sports Blog. I enjoy following numerous sports and there is nothing better for me than attending a sporting event and enjoying the atmosphere, the drama and everything else that comes with it.
I am an avid Newcastle United fan ever since I was a little boy, you may ask why since I was brought up a mere 300 miles away. The reason is Alan Shearer; my first memory of football is Euro 96 when Shearer was banging in the goals for England, after the tournament he moved to Newcastle which is why I support them.
As a rugby fan, I have a season ticket to Harlequins, who play in England’s top league. Luckily not like Newcastle, Harlequins are actually my local professional Rugby team and I enjoy my visits to the Twickenham Stoop and subsequently writing about them.
I am also a huge cricket fan and I will always watch as much cricket as I can; I also play cricket for my local team Bramley CC.
When I can’t attend games, my favourite tv channels are the sports channels and I like to watch as much sport as I can whether it be Football, Rugby, Cricket, Darts, Golf, American Football, Basketball and F1 – I watch a lot of sport!!
In the past, my opinions about sports have been expressed on social media but sometimes it can be limiting so I thought I would start my own blog to express my views!
